Today, I am going to compare Zepp Life and Mi Fitness watch faces. Sadly, these are the only two free apps that I have been able to get to work on my Mi Band 5, 6 and 7 that have a watch faces feature.
Yes, there are a lot of watch faces apps on Google Play Store, but I have not been able to get any of them to work on my Mi Bands. And we do have a detailed comparison of Zepp Life and Mi Fitness.
So, here we go.
Mi Fitness Watch Faces
Mi Fitness comes with a wide variety of watch faces that you can use on your Mi Band. The watch faces are segmented into categories: festive, Animal, Cartoon, Motion, Sci-fi etc. They also have niche categories like Detective Conan and SpongeBob SquarePants.

What I Like
Mi Fitness comes with a good variety of watch faces and you also have the ability to create a custom photo watch face.
Personally, I really liked the SpongeBob SquarePants, I thought it was very unique with subtle animations. Unexpected – in a good way.
Mi Fitness also has a good selection in the minimalist style, that I personally like.

What I Hate
While you get a lot of choice of watch faces with Mi Fitness, the designs are very similar – anime/cartoon character with lots of information.
Not my personal taste, but maybe that’s what popular with Mi Band users – let me know in the comment section below. I feel most of the watch faces are targeted towards younger users.
Additionally, the inability to change the type of information displayed, or even the color scheme, is a real limitation. But this is not limited to Mi Fitness, Zepp Life has a similar limitation.
Zepp Life Watch Faces

What I Like
Zepp Life has a number of good watch faces. The watch faces are arranged into different categories: Art, Fashion, Business and so forth.
On my Mi Band 5 and 6, I really liked the Art category because of its simplicity and subtle animation.
My favorite is the ability to create a custom watch face under the photo watch face category.
What I Hate
Personally, I find most of the watch faces on Zepp Life to be cluttered. There is too much going on that it is hard for me to easily see the information that I need on my Mi Band display.
Add to that that most of the watch faces are anime – and not the kind of anime that I like, and you can only sync a maximum of 3 watch faces.
Finally, I really miss the ability to change the type of information that is displayed by the watch faces – I don’t know if this is a limitation of the Mi Band or Zepp Life.
Conclusion
Personally, I prefer the Mi Fitness watch faces to the Zepp Life. Truth be told, both apps watch faces are very similar, but if you are looking for more variety and something unique, Mi Fitness is a better bet.
